Shaker Heights, Ohio (April 27, 2026) – Metropolitan Holdings is pleased to announce that Paris Baguette, the internationally recognized bakery-café brand, has signed a lease for ground-floor retail space at Arcadia, a luxury mixed-use development currently under construction in Shaker Heights’ award-winning Van Aken District.

Located at 3393 Warrensville Center Road, Arcadia will be a 250,000 square-foot mixed-use development featuring 141 apartment homes and more than 15,000 square feet of curated retail and office space. Paris Baguette will occupy approximately 3,460 square feet, introducing its signature selection of artisan breads, handcrafted pastries, custom cakes, and café beverages to one of Northeast Ohio’s most dynamic lifestyle destinations.

Metropolitan Holdings announces 315 apartments coming to Miami Township

Miami Township, Ohio (March 13, 2026) - Metropolitan Holdings has received zoning approval from Miami Township to move forward with Conrad Apartments, a new upscale multifamily community of 315 units located at 1005 Business 28. The development will transform the former Trester Auto Parts & Salvage Yard site into a high-quality residential community, supporting reinvestment along the Business 28 corridor.

The four-story corridor building will feature a resort-inspired amenity package, including a swimming pool with sun deck, fitness center, movie theater, business center, pickleball court, golf simulator, game lawn, pet washing station, and a one-acre dog park. Shaker Heights, Ohio (April 1, 2025) - Columbus-based real estate developer Metropolitan Holdings has started site work on Arcadia, the 250,000-square-foot mixed-use building that will house 141 apartments and more than 15,000 square feet of commercial/retail and office space at the long-vacant southeast corner of Warrensville Center and Farnsleigh roads.

RDL Architects, which recently outgrew its Shaker Heights office spaces, designed the complex and will move back to Shaker as its primary office occupant.

“We are very excited to have Metropolitan Holdings moving forward with this transformative expansion of the Van Aken District,” said Shaker Heights Mayor David E. Weiss. “Arcadia will add vibrancy and density to an already popular neighborhood, increasing the new housing options available. Residents of Arcadia will have easy access to RTA rail and bus routes, shopping, dining, banking, and recreation. In addition, this project will help grow our tax base and enable the City to retain RDL architects, a long-time Shaker business.”

Plans call for a mix of apartment and townhouse-style rental units, with 25 units set aside for residents earning 80-100% of the area median income as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The project will feature:

A signature corner with ground floor retail space and second floor offices
Different styles of construction including brownstones, townhouses, and traditional flats
Indoor parking for approximately 200 cars on site

Occupancy is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, upon all final approvals.

The project property was the site of the former Qua Buick-Pontiac until its closing in 2005. In 2015 the City partnered with the Cuyahoga County Land Bank to clear the site in preparation for redevelopment.

Columbus, Ohio (September 26, 2024) – Residents have begun to move into Ogden Apartments in King-Lincoln Bronzeville and a celebration is scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd from 3pm-5pm to commemorate the project.

Columbus, Ohio (October 13, 2023) - A new multi-story mural is being painted in the heart of Olde Towne East. Located at the new Metropolitan Holdings development, Triumph Apartments, local artist Carlos Roa began work on the piece in early October.

Once complete, Roa says the mural will depict “an indigenous African goddess keeping a motherly and protective watch over the community.” The painting is inspired by the vibrant African American art and jazz community of Columbus in the 1930s and ‘40s and Roa’s own cultural roots.

Roa was born in Bogota, Columbia and raised in the United States after being adopted at the age of six. His artistic philosophy is to pay homage to the spirit of the native people of all nations and to unify audiences through his uniquely intriguing style, mixing the past with futuristic elements.

“I hope the mural inspires people to think about who we are, where we came from, and the generations of ancestors that paved the way before us,” says Roa.

Roa has lived in Columbus for over 35 years and is the owner of Fifth Element Tattoo Gallery on Parsons Avenue. More of his mural work can be seen at Barrio locations on Fifth Avenue and Lane Avenue, as well as a mural celebrating Merion Village at Parsons Avenue and East Stewart Avenue. “The Columbus art community is so open and welcoming to new artists and voices,” he says, reflecting on what he loves most about the city. “It’s great to see the community taking care of its artists in a way we haven’t seen before.”

Metropolitan Holdings selected Roa to create the mural after issuing a request for proposals in 2022. “It was important to us that we continued the strong tradition of public art in the neighborhood,” says Matthew Vekasy, founder and CEO of Metropolitan Holdings. “Roa’s work was selected for uniquely celebrating and honoring the rich cultural history of the Near East Columbus community.”

The mural can be seen on the northwest side of the Triumph building, at the corner of 18 ^th Street and Agate Alley in Olde Towne East.

Arch City Development has selected Metropolitan Holdings as the new property manager for The Frisbie Apartments.

Located in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood of Columbus, The Frisbie is a four-story, 67-unit apartment building that was completed in early 2022. The building stands on the site of the former Charles Frisbie mansion that was built in 1898 and torn down in the 1960s.

Earlier this month, Julie Yesnick, our Vice President of Property Management, and our property management team from Parkview were able to tour the training facility and meet with the students and the instructors.

Due to COVID restrictions and other government regulations, it took nearly 6 months to get approval for a face-to-face meeting from the Department of Labor. Our team was able to walk through the cement and masonry area, the carpentry area, and the facilities maintenance area.

Our intent for this partnership is to allow students who are towards the end of their program to experience hands-on learning at Parkview under our service team's leadership and guidance. Then, upon graduation, hire these students to join our Service Department.

The students are paid through their work-based learning program and are “volunteering” for us on our site. Our contribution to the center will be through donation of older appliances, electrical/plumbing/drywall materials, tools, and serving as adjunct instructors from time to time.

We look forward to watching this partnership take shape over the months and years to come!
